All About this Tour

With a history over 4,000 years old, our heritage tour fuses the beauty of Vietnam’s central landscape with a glimpse into its rich, evocative past. Concentrated to just 250 km, our journey envelops the area surrounding the Hai Van Pass in central Vietnam. At Hue, the former Imperial capital of the Nguyen Dynasty, step into the past to enjoy manicured gardens and the sprawling complex of stunning palace buildings. Then on down the coastal road to My Son, built by the kings of Champa between the 4th and 14th centuries, now the site of the most extensive Cham remains.

Itinerary

Day 1

We meet in the UNESCO World Heritage site of Hue and are immediately introduced to the Ngu Yen Dynasty during our tour of the Imperial Citadel, modelled after China’s Forbidden City.

Day 2

We explore by boat and bicycle the rich heritage left behind by the emperors of the Ngu Yen Dynasty. We cruise on the Perfume River to the seven-storey Thien Mu Pagoda then cycle to Ming Mang and Khai Dinh mausoleums.

Day 3

We cycle the countryside on a mix of footpaths and quiet country lanes to the traditional village of Phuoc Tich, where many homes are more than 200 years old.

Day 4

We cycle along the coast south to Lang Co Beach, passing colourful graveyards and fishing villages. The afternoon is free to enjoy the resort and beach.

Day 5

Ride and tackle a gradual 550-m climb with many switchbacks to the top of Hai Van Pass for a panoramic view. Then it's downhill from here to Danang, with a stop to visit China Beach before reaching our destination of Hoi An.

Day 6

Small village roads will lead us back in time to the ruins of the ancient centre of the Cham civilisation, My Son. Built from the 4th to the 14th centuries, this was once Champa's greatest city, but much was destroyed by American bombs.

Day 7

Your guide will lead you through the morning market, telling about the many local fruits and vegetables. We return to the hotel in time for your onward travels.

Reviews

It was a cycle tour of a lifetime!! Our guide took us to places we would never have seen or experienced if we were in a van or a bus. His local and national knowledge was amazing - he was like a walking encyclopedia. Anh co was incredible. Thoughtful, caring, motivating, so knowledgeable and so much fun. WE LOVED EVERY MINUTE OF IT AND WILL BE BACK!!! We will also be spreading the word to friends and family. Thanks for the memories of a lifetime!!

Great experience, excellent combination of biking, visiting sites and eating local foods. A great way to see the country.

Best holiday experience! I felt like I experienced more Vietnamese culture then any other tour! The guide was amazing with my long list of food intolerance!
