About this Cycle Tour

Our Thailand Heritage by Bicycle tour takes you back in time on a route paved by kingdom builders. The Chakri dynasty established the current capital of Bangkok or, as known by locals, Krung Thep, our starting point of the tour. From here we head north to the former Kingdom of Ayutthaya, once one of the wealthiest cities in the East during its heyday. The 33 kings of Ayutthaya ruled more than four centuries before the city was conquered and destroyed by the Burmese.

Transfer from Bangkok and start our biking journey at a royal summer residence of Bang Pa-In Palace. We then continue on flat back roads to explore Ayutthaya Historical Park, a UNESCO World Heritage Site.

Day 2

Our riding day starts with a leisurely cycle past more of Ayutthaya's old temples and continues on to Wat Chaiyo Worawihan, home to an impressively large seated Buddha image.

Day 3

We ride north to visit Hat Thanong Village, famous for its craft knife making. Later we witness the glory of Thai civilization as we cycle through Kamphaeng Phet Historical Park, a UNESCO World Heritage Site.

Day 4

Cycle through the remains of the first kingdom of Siam, Sukhothai, another UNESCO World Heritage Site, before transferring north to the Kingdom of Lanna for a visit to Khum Chao Luang, the residence of Lanna's last ruler.

Day 5

Today we start our exploration of the Lanna Kingdom in Lamphang, the fortress city of the most prosperous kingdom in northern Thailand during the 13th-18th centuries.

Day 6

After visiting Wat Phra That Lampang Luang, we cycle around Wat Phra That Hariphunchai and explore the historic ruins of Wiang Khum Kham, Lanna's capital before it was moved to Chiang Mai, the destination of our biking journey.

Day 7

Drive up to Wat Phra That Doi Suthep, the most sacred temple in northern Thailand and ride downhill to Wat Suan Dok, where the ashes of Chiang Mai's royal family are interred. Later we enjoy a farewell lunch at a spot overlooking the city.
