Day 1

We transfer out of the chaos of Bangkok to the start of our ride in Petchaburi and are quickly in rural Thailand as we ride along the beach into Cha-am and on to the beach resort town of Hua Hin.

Day 2

Cycle from Hua Hin towards Sam Roi Yot National Park and ride below towering peaks of limestone then ride along the beach to Prachuap Khiri Khan and enjoy a seafood dinner.

Day 3

We leave the hotel and ride along the beach front road. We are now well away from the main tourist areas as we head towards a serene beach and our nature-friendly boutique resort.

Day 4

Rest day to relax at the beach.

Day 5

Our route sticks to the coast, giving us views of the sea to the left and rugged mountains on our right as we pass through Thailand's narrowest part to finish riding just north of Chumpon.

Day 6

Cross the Isthmus of Kra and head west on an undulating road that cuts through the lush jungle clad mountains to the spa town of Ranong where you can soak in the hotel's hot mineral spring pool.

Day 7

We ride through valleys today on an undulating road and pass many villages and children waving and yelling out farang, farang (foreigner).

Day 8

We continue our journey south, riding from valley to valley towards picturesque Khao Lak, through one of the worst areas devastated by the 2004 Tsunami.

Day 9

There are a couple of small hills to conquer before we leave Khao Lak, but then it's flat all the way down to Phang Nga and the tropical paradise of Phuket island.

Day 10

Today is yours to relax and rest after eight days of great riding!

I am not a strong cyclist and was quite nervous to be on the tour. But the support team including our guides were very attentive and helpful, Nat and Game made sure that everyone was safe and can enjoy the ride at our own pace. I particularly looked forward to the snacking breaks every 20km-ish, as they served varieties of Thai delicacies and fruits! Overall, it was a great way to see and learn about the culture of Thailand. Thanks SpiceRoads for making it possible for me to complete the 800km :)

What a trip! The Spiceroads team expertly navigated us through this stunning country, the rider guides had absolutely everything covered and their excellent comms with the support team meant all logistics went like clockwork. The roads were excellent and mostly quiet, the food and snack stops were amazing. Our group was a diverse mix of cultures and abilities and the team made sure everyone got what they wanted from the trip. This trip should be on everyone's bucket list, well done Spiceroads.
