Itinerary

Day 1

Transfer out of bustling Saigon to near My Tho, where we begin our ride to Cai Be, the gateway to the Mekong Delta. We cycle down narrow lanes, over canals and past banana plantations, then cross the river by boat to our local inn.

Day 2

Leave An Binh and bike along narrow dirt tracks and trails. Witness colorful riverside life while pedaling past picturesque delta homes, and cross innumerable small bridges to our beautiful riverside resort.

Day 3

There is plenty to observe today - fishermen, village life, temples - as we cycle scenic roads, crossing many small bridges, to Can Tho. There are many Khmer temples to visit en route as well as Ba Om Pond with its magnificent lotus flowers.

Day 4

Start the morning with a visit to Cai Rang floating market and weave through this bustling place along the banks of an active riverfront. Depart on a ride among endless canals, fruit orchards and hushed villages before we lunch and transfer back to Saigon.

Reviews

This was a wonderful tour! A mix of bike riding, sightseeing, learning local culture, and delicious food. Well supported by our English speaking guide Bao and our driver Chu, we enjoyed local Homestays as well as very modern hotels. A truly great way to get to know a country!

A perfect way to explore the "real" Vietnam with 4 days in the Mekong delta. The beauty of the delta was highlighted by carefully curated rides and, as we were the only guests on this particular tour our guide was happy to extend our cycling days to suit us. We cycled along back lanes and tiny roads and were very close to the communities we cycled through, often stopping to chat to the children who were keen to practice their English .We saw so much that we otherwise would not have been able to appreciate by stopping at farms, businesses, local eateries and homestays each night and Tinh was always happy to stop when I yelled, "Got to take another photo!!". As we cycled we chatted and, again, Tinh was an excellent communicator, we covered many many subjects and again it helped us to understand the current Vietnam and how it has evolved bearing in mind it's history and it's place in the world geographically and politically.
