About this Cycle Tour

Cambodia is known for its impressive ruins of Angkor, yet that's not all Cambodia has to offer. Peaceful beaches, dense jungles in the mountains and an unpretentious rural way of life, guarantee an exotic Southeast Asian experience.

Itinerary

Day 1

From Phnom Penh we'll stop for a somber visit to the Killing Fields, before we drive on to Wat Preash Theat, and then start our ride on quiet country roads to Takeo.

Day 2

We will cycle down to the coastline of Cambodia. Visit a black pepper plantation, a famous crop from the region, before arriving to Kep, Cambodia's prestigious beach resort of the 1960s that is reawakening to its former glory.

Day 3

We cycle from the hotel to visit a cave temple then ride on to Steung Keo River. We overnight at a traditional wooden lodge by the river in the town of Kampot.

Day 4

As the road up to the Bokor Hill Station is very demanding, we will drive up to Black Palace then start our ride where the road is less steep. Visit the remains of casino and church then have lunch by an impressive waterfall. Transfer back to Phnom Penh.

Reviews

Our tour was excellent! The entire experience was made even better by our amazing tour guide, Pannha was enthusiastic, funny, knowledgeable, and always going the extra mile to make sure we had the best possible experience. From answering our questions about Cambodian culture to finding the best stops for snacks and lunch along our route, he really elevated the experience for our vacation. I can't recommend him highly enough!

We really enjoyed the Pepper Route bicycle tour through picturesque farms, rice fields, mango orchards, and pepper farms. Our guide was really friendly, maximized our experience each day, and went the extra mile to make our trip special. This trip is so much more than a bicycle tour: we went cave spelunking, stood on top of a waterfall, walked through bustling fish market, visited the Killing Fields museum, fed monkeys bananas, hiked to the top of a mountain, toured a pepper farm, had a picnic on a lake, rested in hammocks and swam in the hotel pool.

Despite some bumpy backroads, the scenery was beautiful. The locals were really friendly everywhere, waving hello as we biked past them. The tour struck a perfect balance between adventure and leisure, giving us enough breaks and rest at the end of the day.

One highlight was the constant supply of various fresh fruit as a road snack. The well-maintained mountain bikes and the guide's enthusiasm made this tour an unforgettable adventure. Highly recommended for nature lovers and thrill-seekers alike! The route was fairly flat each day, but there was a nice climb on the last day. I definitely recommend padded bike shorts and padded gloves for the Pepper Route, which includes very bumpy backroads a couple days.

It's always better to see a new country led by a local. Our guide was incredible – designing a route that took us to many off-the-beaten path sights, bringing us to amazing local eateries, and making sure all of our logistical needs were taken care of so we could focus on the experience.
