All About this Tour

Escape Chiang Mai for the hills! Spend an exhilarating day on dirt trails cycling 40 km through teak and bamboo forests, fire roads and adrenaline pumping single track fun. This variety of riding in a pristine setting makes for a perfect day out on the bike! We begin our day at the photogenic Buatong Waterfall and warm up our legs with a walk up the limestone steps of the waterfall. We start our riding through a teak forest on logging trails and have a few very short climbs, but are rewarded with a nice flowy downhill. Our track then evens out as we cycle through rice fields and along tranquil canals with views across the beautiful scenery. We'll ride by small sleepy farming villages on our way to Mae Ngad reservoir. Crossing the dam we head to the restaurant for lunch. We'll taste some specialties from northern Thailand as we relax with lake side views. In the afternoon we get back onto our bikes and ride on a flat but twisty dirt path through rice fields. Be prepared to climb, as after 10 kms we'll have an ascent up to another reservoir, where we'll take a break to catch our breath. Continuing on an undulating track we are truly out in the country now and just see fields and jungle as we cycle on the edge of Sri Lanna National Park. One more break at a village to meet the locals before the final push to the end. A chance to freshen up before we transfer an hour back to Chiang Mai.

Reviews

I joined Chiang Mai XC Challenge ride yesterday. It was a very good outing and I really appreciate this good tour. Weather was good, the trail is also good going inside some Thailand National Park, and for sure Guide Tommy did a great job for me and for the rest of the group. Also credits to your driver for the support. I would like to thank everybody for this nostalgic trip especially the experience at the rice farm. I really enjoyed the ride.

Best regards and I will join your tour again in the future!

An opportunity to really 'see' the amazing scenery that you would usually miss if you weren't on a bike!!!!

Excellent combo of street riding, touring through back country roads , and then we hit the mountains. Stopped at a very good restaurant overlooking a dam. Really enjoyed it.
