A short drive east of Bangkok takes us to Minburi, one of the city's oldest and most interesting suburbs.
What will we see? Our one day tour takes you out of Bangkok and back into the Thailand of old. A land of gentle river boats, laughing children, rice fields, green tropical landscapes and temple after temple! Visit the bizarre temple of Phurt Udom Pol, Kamalulislam mosque and the market town of Nong Chok. You visit a local women's cooperative, fish farms, working rice mills, traditional Thai wooden houses and an old medicine shop. You also get a close-up view of Thai village life. This is as real as it gets. No other tourists come out here!
What is the riding like? The ride is a gentle 40 kilometers along canal paths, and wide dirt roads passing through paddy fields.
Anything else? Lunch is typical Thai noodles served at a local restaurant and the ride ends with a boat ride* down the San Saeb canal before driving back to Bangkok.
Of course, water, soft drinks and snacks are all included all day and SpiceRoads supplies a TREK mountain bike and helmet. The trip is fully supported by our air conditioned minibus.

We learned a lot more about Thailand and enjoyed a pirvate tour with our guide and driver very much!
Barbara and Roger Herren - November 2012
I enjoyed every aspect of the trip as it offered plenty of variety, but the boat ride at the end rounded it off perfectly. The guide and driver made a brilliant team and ensured that everyone had an enjoyable time.
Mark Blaszczynski - October 2012
A very good day trip that I would certainly do again, the two guides were fantastic and the food was amazing. A good cycle trip
Greg - September 2012
I just wanted to let you know how pleased we were with the BKK countryside trip on Saturday. In spite of the heat we had a great day, and everything was impeccably organised and executed by our 2 guides and drivers.
Thank you very much indeed.

We, two friends, were the only ones who booked the tour and had the greatest time! The guide took wonderful care of us, considered all our needs and wishes (including walking the first 1.5 km along the canal because the track was too narrow for my friend) and took breaks whenever we needed. He was very knowledgable and pointed out a lot of interesting details. The bikes were very good condition; the food served in a restaurant for lunch was delicious. The tour of the country side takes you outside of Bangkok, through rice fields, to a bat colony, to an orchid farm and to Buddhist Wonderland - be surprised! The entire trip can be quite exhausting if it is very hot, but you have the choice to jump back into the airconditioned van anytime, which is very convenient. Overall: Highly recommended!

It was a tremendous experience, with the first sector until lunch by far surpassing the flat long return trip. The lunch was magnificent and the staff was an asset to Spiceroads!
